These sounds are reworked sounds originally uploaded by Bernd Drefahl from his DC4 collection and Mike Hambly´s FS2000 soundset for the Lockheed Constellation. (See included textfiles) I have added sounds from various sources to give them more "throat" and fit them for the FS2000 sound engine. Edited the wavs and sound.cfg so they are best suitable for FS2000 DC4twa_2k from Harry Follas and planes with engines in the same rpm-range. Also the sounds work very nice with the B377 for FS2000 by Dave McQueen, though the sound impression is quite different.
These sounds give the ultimativ impression of the classic old midliner engines.
All files are in stereo and pcm-format.
They work well in Fs2000, and will not work in FS98.
There is a bug in the FS2000 sound machine, if you change the view, for example from cockpit to external or else, the sound impression get an echo. I reduced this effect as much as possible, but could not remove it at all. This effect is very good for the internals used at the stratocruiser, but if you don´t like it just shut down the engines after set a new view and restart them, you´ll have the original "pure" sound. ( Don´t do it at your "climb" , you may lose to much speed :-)
Installation:
Rename folder to sound and put into aircraft folder of your choice, or create a new folder and link from within your sound folder of desired aircraft.
By this way I´d like to thank all these freeware designers for their work and would like to grant all if I used a piece without named. This is due to the mass of files available and is no non observance of limitations and copyright rules. Please let me know if i missed anything.
